Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and Pharmachemical Ireland Announce 2013 Science Week Competition
€4,000 in scientific equipment to be awarded to winning
DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2013--
plc (NYSE: MNK), as part of this year’s Science Week and in conjunction
with Pharmachemical Ireland, today extended an invitation to schools to
win scientific equipment by participating in a poster competition. The
theme of the competition, which is open to first-year students in
secondary schools in the Dublin 15 / County Meath area, is “What Does
Chemistry Mean to Me in My Everyday Life?” The first-place prize is
€2500’s worth of scientific equipment; second- and third-place winners
will receive equipment valued at €1000 and €500, respectively.
Posters will be judged on the basis of design, content and presentation.
The closing date for entries is 20 December. Application forms and

The objective of Science Week each year is to promote the relevance of
science, technology, engineering and maths and to demonstrate their
importance to the future of Irish society and to the country’s economy.
Co-ordinated by Science Foundation Ireland, Science Week 2013 runs from
10 to 17 November and is a collaboration of events run by Irish
colleges, schools, libraries, teachers, community groups, researchers
